About Us
We teach over 7000 young people a week
At Tameside Music Service, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to hear, learn about, and make music. We are qualified and experienced music educators, each with a professional portfolio spanning a diverse range of genres. Whilst our routes to teaching music are varied, all of us share the same, universal passion – to inspire and equip all music makers in Tameside in the next steps of their musical journey, whatever their circumstances.
Tameside Music Service works with over 7,000 young people and adults across the borough, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Longdendale, Mossley, and Stalybridge.
We are part of the Greater Manchester Music Hub as well as a Tameside Council Service. Through our collaborations and joined up approach with numerous partners, we ensure that the young people and adults of Tameside get the best opportunities.
“It’s been a genuine privilege to work with you. You and your fantastic team have been first class and I’ve been really lucky to have been able to lean on all of their expertise”

To provide every young person with the highest standards of music education and access to meaningful musical experiences. We are committed to creating opportunities that help all learners develop skills, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
-
Music is what we do but it’s also what we love. We want to inspire young people through engaging musical experiences, to nurture a love of music and encourage them to explore, achieve, and express themselves through performance and creativity.
-
We want to provide meaningful musical experiences and open doors to new possibilities whilst helping young people realise their potential. Through a diverse range of activities, we encourage ambition, build confidence, and empower learners to discover their talents, aspirations, and future pathways in music.
